Comments on our blog

When you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form, your IP address, and your browser information to help with spam detection.

If you use the Gravatar service, an anonymized string (hash) of your email may be provided to Gravatar. Their privacy policy is here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Once your comment is approved, your Gravatar profile picture will be publicly visible with your comment.

We retain comments and their metadata indefinitely unless you request deletion.

Event registrations

When you register for one of our events, we collect information such as your name, email address, and any other details needed for your participation (e.g. dietary preferences, accommodation requests, or payment details if applicable).

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may download and extract location data from such images.

Cookies

Event registrations: kept until the event has been finalized and as long as legally required (e.g. financial records: 7 years).
Contact form submissions: kept only until your request has been answered.
Surveys/interest forms: kept until you withdraw consent or interest is no longer relevant.
Comments: kept indefinitely unless you request removal.
User profiles (if applicable): stored as long as the account remains active.
